Smoke Signals

Madness, method

Posted in cricket by prempanicker on November 4, 2009

Matches are being won and lost; old names and new have begun jostling for attention in the domestic season; Australia continues its bid to create an Injured XI that can challenge its Remaining XI for world champion status; Ireland wants to add to the numbers at the top of the ICC tableĀ  — in other words, a quiet day at the cricket.

Likewise on this blog — yesterday was more blogging than I wanted to handle; today is after this post a no-blog day. Need the mental space to make sense out of a few things; see you back here tomorrow.

In passing, an Aakash Chopra article for your consideration: on the mechanics of playing T20.

Interesting to see Manish Pandey — who was one of the names taken in Karan Thapar’s interview with Lalit Modi as a prime example of a player getting sucked into the glitz and glamour of the IPL and not bothering about domestic tournaments — shine in the Ranji trophy. Just one innings and all that, but thought it was worth pointing out.
